When connecting to most big email providers (gmail, yahoo, etc.) there are no issues, but for others there's a bizarre 5-20s delay when connecting. I'm using Apache SMTPClient API to connect to an SMTP server and verify the email address existence (connect -> login -> setSender -> setRecipient -> logout -> disconnect). I'm currently trying to write a simple Spring email verification microservice. The only thing I can find when searching online is to make sure UseDefaultCredentials=false is set BEFORE setting the Credentials property. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is there any type of workaround for this? When I take the exact credentials/configuration and put them into an email client (Outlook or alike) it works fine. I will also get the same exception when trying Smtp.Port = "Test Message Subject", "Test Message Body") Smtp.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("", "") : Authentication failed.Īt .GetConnection(ServicePoint servicePoint)Īt .GetConnection()Īt .Send(MailMessage message)Īt _Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) in D:\VisualStudio\EmailTest\EmailTest\Form1.cs:line 68
